Music at St. George's
Kathy Fink, Music Director & Organist

Parish Choir

Lead the congregation in singing of hymns and service music and prepare anthems for the 11:00 a.m. service and other special services throughout the year. Music selection is diverse and draws from repertoire that spans five centuries. Open to anyone who loves church music and can commit to regular rehearsals. Rehearsals Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

Mega Choir
The Mega Choir is for those who want to sing, but may not be able to commit to choir rehearsals every week. Each Mega Choir event is a "stand-alone" event which involves one rehearsal on a Saturday evening, accompanied by a potluck supper. Then the Mega Choir performs the songs they learned on Saturday the next day on Sunday at the 11:00 service. No robes, no fuss, no committment, except for the one rehearsal/performance.

Godly Play & Godly Time Choirs
Children in the Godly Play (Pre K – K) and Godly Time (Grades 1-4) Church School classes sing at the 9:00 a.m. service approximately five times each year. Music is taught at the beginning of each Church School class. Children learn traditional and contemporary sacred songs, and prepare special music for Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter. (on hiatus)

HOT (Hang Out Time) Choir
An extension of the H.O.T. program, open to young people in grades 6-8 from the church and wider community. H.O.T. Choir sings frequently throughout the church year at the 9:00 a.m. service, and at local nursing homes during the holidays. Choristers learn part-singing, reading, vocal development and choral sound using repertoire from a variety of styles and periods. Rehearsals are directly after H.O.T., Tuesdays, 2:50-4:00 p.m. (on hiatus)

Parish Musicians and Instrumentalists
Adult parish members are invited to prepare and play instrumental offerings for the prelude and Communion at the 11:00 a.m. service. Young people are invited to do prepare an Offertory selection for the 9:00 a.m. service. Please contact the Music Director well in advance to choose a Sunday and arrange a rehearsal time.
